It’s adventurous, mythological, and highly amusing with a few tense scenes that leave you holding your breath. In the very first Percy Jackson book we are introduced to the world of gods and all the dangers out there for boys and girls who are half-human and half-god. Percy has to stop an impending war before the very world they inhabit can implode and swallow everyone whole. He’s got two new friends who are willing to fight alongside him.Īnnabeth and Grover team up with Percy as he is falsely accused of stealing Zeus’s lightning bolt. Soon Percy must learn to become a “Hero” and how to fight these monsters.

The path isn’t easy, and nobody ever said it was going to be.Īlong the way monsters are gunning for him and everyone Percy has ever cared about. In the meantime he’s forced to venture to a camp especially designed for him and others like him. His father has yet to claim him but Percy has a vague memory of the man, whoever he is.
